Welcome to the Crusin' For booze blog! If you’re reading this you have, as I often have, wondered just how many fine alcohol production establishments the great state of Wisconsin is home to. While Wisconsin is known for the big-named breweries of Milwaukee and the craft Breweries of Madison not many know of our growing wine industry. Even fewer are aware of our growing craft distillery industry and even fewer still are aware that we are home to some of the finest Cider making this side of the Rockies or our fledgling mead scene.
I hope to visit them all and give my impressions of each in this blog and I invite you to join me in my quest whether it’s for the best tasting imbibements in the state or the quirkiest spots to find alcohol being produced. Perhaps you’re outbound on a family trip or looking for a day adventure this blog will have suggestions, reviews, and reflections on the atmosphere, location, and, of course, the beverages themselves.
Full disclosure, we are not any type of wine or beer critics. In fact, we set out on this journey to bring the layman’s point of view to the entire industry. We do not write for any paper, we are not brewers, nor are we Californian wine critics. We are just your run-of-the-mill Wisconsin resident who enjoys drinking just about anything that’s put in front of us and found the internet lacking an easily followable, honest index of what this state has to offer. As you follow along we will impart to you what we have learned, how our tastes change, and give you our honest reflections.
There will be laughter, there will ramblings, and there will be times where we am enjoying the atmosphere so much that it’s quite possible we'll trail off.
Let’s see what Wisconsin has to offer. We promise that in the most unlikely of places, with some of the most incredible scenery, a great spot for a drink is just around the corner.
